I am on my way to updating my computer in the 21st Century. I bought this particular model, a 13-inch MacBook Pro, in January ’09. Before upgrading to Lion, the first step is installing Snow Leopard. I am always the permanent pessimist when it comes to computer software. People openly promise faster speeds on your desktop and the rainbow. This past weekend, I tested out the iPhone 4S voice dictation software known as a woman called Siri. I heard rave reviews about it online, so I gave it a shot. My thoughts: it absolutely sucked. The lovely Apple associate helping me explained it was a Beta version still working out the kinks. We estimated it only worked accurately 10 percent of the time. I have a slight Midwestern dialect when I speak at times, apart from nervous moments when I take... 

We are all on the internet.  All the time.  Ok, well maybe not everybody.  My dad has had a cell phone for years and receives my text messages, but still calls me to respond to them.  He is not a man who creates copious online accounts at all of his favorite websites. With news from Apple that there could be potential flaws with its 1st generation of iPod Nano’s, released between 2005 and 2006, that could see the battery overheating, the big co has decided to release a program to see owners return their faulty iPods. For those of you lucky enough to still have your iPod Nano 1st gen, and for it to not have already overheated – Apple has advised all owners to head over to here to complete an online form... 

I am far too chicken to mail an anonymous postcard anywhere. If I did, anyway, you wouldn’t be able to read my penmanship well. Thankfully, someone invented an app for people like me, one that may be more trustworthy than telling your nosy reverend – because he comes to your cousin’s house parties. Touting the message, “Share anonymous secrets…connect with like-minded people,” I get the feeling if and when one does... 

Don’t you find this sad? Online privacy is never really a standard nowadays. But it is whittling down to Facebook becoming out and open. Yikes. These employees weren’t threatening major terrorism. I’m not suggesting they are wonderful individuals but raising the question: where do we draw the line? I thought Facebook was the place, assuming your profile stayed “private,” where you could kick back and brag about your beer...
